It Can’t Be Wednesday Already

Seriously? Did three days really slip by this quickly? I know that–in general–the busier I am the faster the clock seems to move, but this is just nuts.

Isn’t lost time a symptom of UFO abduction? Maybe I should check my backyard for crop circles and my backdoor for signs of alien activity.

In all seriousness, this first part of the week has flown by, leaving me honestly shocked that I’m already staring down the barrel of my Must Go Out And Do Stuff Day. Appointments, errands, and a desperate attempt to fit productive work in and around both.

I just hope the clocks keep up their warp-speed pace and get me through today as quickly as they have the week so far. I doubt it, but I can dream.

I can also digress, so let’s get on with the goal achieving.

Work

I will spend three hours each day working on freelance writing. Oh yeah.

I will spend one hour each day working on this site. Yup.

Play

I will spend one hour a day doing whatever the hell I feel like doing. Smokin’!

I will spend two hours a day reading books. Slacking just a bit…

Health

I will spend 30 minutes a day walking. Almost there.

On Sunday I altered the deal my health goal to be more narrow and realistic. Instead of an hour of non-specific “something to improve my physical health” I turned it into the above. I’ve done fair-to-middling as far as achieving it, but I blame the weather. Cold, rainy, dreary–not the sort of weather which says “Come out and play.”

My reading goal suffered a bit too, but that’s all me. The evil television set in the living room got its claws into me again and I’m trying to pry them loose. Trust me, “Kill your television,” is great advice for the busy writer. Probably great advice for everyone.

On the freelancing front, it seems like every check-in post this round I’ve been able to share the news that I’ve been paid for something I wrote. This is turning out to be a fantastic month for that sort of thing, and we’re not even close to November yet.

Anyway, there it is. The first half of the week done with and the second half looking pretty good, so long as my inertia continues.

So how you doin’?
